International Association of  Transportation Infrastructure (INTATI)

Founded in 1995, the International Association of Transportation Infrastructure (INTATI) is a non-profit, non-governmental academic organization aimed at researchers, engineers, policy makers, and industry practitioners in the field of transportation infrastructure worldwide.

 

 

History

The establishment of INTATI is rooted in three decades of profound academic accumulation and a long-standing tradition of international cooperation. 

Establishment occurred in 1995. In 1995, the Research Association for Road, Earthworks and Tunnel Engineering Aachen e.V. was founded in Aachen, Germany by Professor Bernhard Steinauer of RWTH Aachen University. Over the past 30 years, the Association has continuously advanced road, geotechnical, and tunnel engineering, making significant contributions to the development of transportation infrastructure in Europe and globally. 

Establishment of the Sino-European Center in 2015. In 2015, the Sino-European Research Center for Advanced Transportation Infrastructure Technology was established to provide an internationally influential platform for fundamental research, talent development, international exchange, and integrated industry–university–research cooperation in transportation.

Renamed of INTATI in 2025. Rooted in its establishment in 1995, the organization built 30 years of academic excellence and expanded its international reach through a decade of achievements with the Sino-European Center. In 2025, it was renamed the International Association of Transportation Infrastructure (INTATI), elevating its collaborative network to a global scale to realize its vision of cooperation.
